Things to know in Advance:

Important Note to Female Students: ISA is currently trying to provide Accomadtion to Female Students. Please prepare for staying in a temperoray motel for atleast 3 days. ISA is negotiating the price for international students. For your idea its approx $35 / person / night. Stay will be in Commerce,TX.

  • ISATAMUC will try to show a temporary accommodation, but due to unavailability of apartments in Commerce, we can't gurantee it. So please be ready to stay in a motel for a short time

  • The Indian Student Association, asks you to pay a $50.00, towards your airport pickup, which includes the fuel charges, Airport entry fee, and little bit on food expenses of yours during pickup. ISA neither makes nor receives any money regarding transportation costs, ISA only facilitates getting someone to pick up incoming students. This money go to the student who picks you up at the airport for their expenses. The Indian Student Association Transportation team will locate another Indian student who can pick up new students at the airport. All students who are picked up will be expected to pay their pickup person $50.00. If a student makes an online signup, arranged to be picked up and fails to show up, then they are expected to pay the person who are assigned to pick them up as it costs their pocket. A person assigned for pick up, has to travel for about 4 hours from Commerce to the airport and back.

  • You are invited to join the India Student Association. Our one time dues are $30 and you can pay your pickup person when you pay for your transportation. Also, ISA is hosts the Ganesh Festival, Diwali festival and many more. Our organization dues are used to pay for welcome parties so ISA asks everyone to donate money for this special festival. As a new student, a donation of $5 will help ISA pay for our expenses. This may also be paid to the person picking you up. ISA will be having a separate orientation which is listed in the handout which is given to you by the person who picks you.

  • You will pay only once in your masters for ISA registration.

  • If you know that you are coming in groups, then you need to intimate the transport co-ordinator and ask for group pickup and each one should fill the pickup form individually and each one should pay the $50.00 individually.

  • Notify the Transportation team with plenty of advance notice if you have any changes in the itinerary to one of the email : transport@isatamuc.org or president@isatamuc.org or vicepresident@isatamuc.org

  • Make sure you inform the transpotation team about changes in your travel plans by phone
